The OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard requires employers to develop and maintain an Exposure Control Plan (ECP) to eliminate or minimize exposure to blood or other potentially infectious material. Tulane University's Exposure Control Plan can be found here: Tulane ECP.
Training
To receive credit and to remain in compliance with regulations, users must complete BOTH trainings annually and all tasks associated with the trainings. Both of these trainings must be completed between the hours of 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., M-F, and not during university closures. 1. Tulane Employee Specific Information for Bloodborne Pathogens – OEHS
This course contains Tulane-Specific requirements such as:
- Reading Tulane’s Exposure Control Plan; and
- Submitting a Hepatitis B Declination to the Tulane Living Well Occupational Health Clinic

What to do if you have a Bloodborne Exposure?
- Hepatitis B Vaccine Form (PDF) - If you work with Bloodborne Pathogens and do not want the Hepatitis B vaccine, you must still sign the form and submit to your Occupational Health Clinic (Tulane Living Well or TNPRC Occupational Health Clinic)
